A full refurbishment project in Birmingham City Centre
KNS Electrical Services completed a full refurbishment project In Birmingham City Centre New Street. Platform 21 is the bold reimagining of one of Birmingham’s most well-known high street office spaces. Throughout its life Platform 21 has been known as The Woolworths or The Charters buildings, instantly recognised by its external ‘wall climber’ glass lift that faces onto New Street, Birmingham’s main pedestrian thoroughfare.
KNS undertook a full Electrical Install labour only including Primary & Secondary Containment, Wiring and final fixing of all electrical accessories and lighting. KNS worked with a regular M&E client Imtech and main contractor Wates.
The lighting design was quite challenging and with all the M&E services on show and small ceiling voids this was a big challenge to keep the lighting layout to architectural drawings and to maintain the lux levels required for feature and proposed desk layouts.
This project was also the beginning of Covid times and was extremely difficult with unknown boundaries and restrictions. KNS worked extremally hard with all contractors and a great team effort delivered a fantastic looking project.
